There is no application process for prizes. All eligible residents are assessed on competitive criteria and the selected resident/s are awarded at the Awards Ceremony.

The prize will have a maximum value of $500, which will be paid in the form of a gift card, cash or gift.

  • be a continuing resident
  • have lived at IH for one full year

Eligible residents will be assessed through the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average over two semesters, across a full-time study load.

First Year Most Improved Prize

To acknowledge visible improvement in one or more of the following: academic results, personal and professional development, college engagement and participation.

University and college life with all of its activity and lifestyle changes can be a challenging time. This award exists to recognise residents who may have struggled to find their place in one or more areas, yet have managed to embrace college and university life and show demonstrated improvement in one or more areas of:

  • academic results
  • personal and professional development
  • college engagement and participation

The Chatterjee Prize

About

International House International House is the only campus College with a unique 50% Australian/50% International community that celebrates and embraces diversity. In appreciation of residents who make a significant contribution to showcasing and encouraging others to share their culture, we are privileged to recognise this individual through awarding the Chatterjee Prize. The Prize was founded by past Board of Management member Victoria Chatterjee. We are grateful for the support of IH friends like Victoria which enables IH to acknowledge our residents.
