Rotarian Bert Martin had a dream in the 1950s to build an International House in Brisbane. His dream was realized when International House opened with 50 male residents in 1965. "That Brotherhood May Prevail" has remained the motto for nearly 50 years and is as relevant now as it was when incorporated within the social mission of the day.

 

The International House Foundation (IHF) Ltd is a Company Limited by Guarantee with a Public Ancillary Trust. Our goal is to maximize and enable International House to have a holistic impact on the future leaders of our world's lives. We do this by providing opportunities for young people to expand and grow both personally and professionally through mentoring, networking, scholarships, bursaries, leadership development and wellness programs. IHF Ltd strives to create a worldwide network of International House Alumni that can support and grow the opportunities available to the Housie family. The International House Foundation aims to marshall the College community’s resources and goodwill for the continuing operation and long term development of the College and the development of a ‘Community for Peace and Understanding’. 

 

Our focus is on providing an environment which facilitates understanding among people of diverse backgrounds.  The goals of International House Foundation are to:  

 

  
  • Establish funds for the benefit of the college by way of donations, bequests, gifts and legacies.
  • Offer International House students a range of funded scholarships or offset residency fees.
  • Develop innovative projects including business opportunities to financially support the college. 
 
A philanthropic commitment to the International House Foundation not only secures the future of the College but allows you significant planning opportunities for you and your family.
