I-House Brisbane and UQ have combined resources to offer Indigenous secondary students the interactive InspireU workshops.
Housies Angelina, Audrey, and Konomi have been mentoring Indigenous High School Students through the InspireU program, designed to promote tertiary study, on-campus residential accommodation, and career paths.
The Indigenous mentees visited IH for a College tour, afternoon activities, and a Bara Khana.
Mentors, mentees, UQ staff, IH staff, IH Board members, IH donors, and friends, joined our Director Dr Carla Tromans for a formal dinner to celebrate the InspireU program.
Housie and Indigenous Scholarship recipient, Hannah Tilling, shared her university journey with the high school pupils and told them how living at IH has helped support her study and career dreams.
It was a wonderful night, full of laughter and learning.
Thank you to the InspireU team for organising such a diverse program.
Later in the week, our Housie mentors joined Carla at the InspireU Gala Dinner hosted by UQ.« Back to News
